Teen Read Week Book Review Contest! (10/18-11/8)

In celebration of Teen Read Week, the Carrollton Public Library is hosting an awesome contest! It’s easy; write us a book review of your favorite newish book and you could win a Starbucks gift card and be published on our blog!
1. The book has to have been published for TEENS or ADULTS in 2013-2015.
2. Winners & runner ups have the chance to be published on our blog! So we would like you to be willing to let us post your review.
3. You must be between 13-18 years old.
4. The book review must be written in paragraph form and contain:
¤ Name of book & author
¤ Summary of book with NO SPOILERS (1-2 paragraphs)
¤ Analysis of book (1-3 paragraphs)
¤ Your feelings of the book (1 paragraph)
¤ There’s no word count, but, generally, single-spaced it should be somewhere between 0.5 – 2 pages.
¤ You can add pictures/memes/gifs (like they do in Cracked articles) but they need to be cited so we know where they came from.
¤ Include your name, contact info (email & phone number), age, and school. This part does not need to be in paragraph form.
Reviews will be judged on content, grammar, informativeness, and entertainment value. While we want you to use correct grammar, it’s fine (even encouraged) to write informally/conversationally. Write something you would want to read!
Turn in your masterpiece either in person at a Carrollton Public Library or email it to Have questions? You can message us on Facebook(, email us, or post here on our blog.
The contest will run from October 18 through November 8. Winners will be announced November 13.
This could not be possible without the Friends of the Carrollton Public Library. You guys are the best!
