The Prince of Mist by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

When Max Carver’s family moves from the city to a sleepy seaside town, they soon find themselves caught up in a malevolent mystery.

This story felt really old fashioned to me. The opening scenes felt magical and enchanting. I was surprised at how creepy it got! It comes complete with mysterious film footage, a garden of sinister statues, and a villain who takes many forms including that of a diabolical clown. If you’re in the mood for a ghost story that will get your blood pumping, pick up The Prince of Mist. Just don’t blame me when you start dreaming about circus statues.
